Neil Shipley began his martial arts journey training in Lau Gar and Wu Shu, two respected styles within the Chinese martial arts tradition. In 2012, he joined the Shaolin Kickboxing community, where he continues to train under the guidance of the Chief Instructor at the St Albans and Kings Langley branches.
In April 2022, Neil earned his black belt, marking a significant milestone in his progression as both a practitioner and instructor. He is deeply committed to promoting the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of martial arts training, and is an active ambassador for the Shaolin ethos of discipline, resilience, and community.
Neil is DBS registered and a certified instructor through the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association (BMABA). In January 2023, he launched the Harpenden branch of Shaolin Kickboxing, expanding access to high-quality martial arts instruction in the region.
Operating out of Harpenden Sports Centre, Neil delivers comprehensive training in the traditional Shaolin syllabus, alongside Kickboxing and K1 techniques. His dynamic teaching style, combined with genuine enthusiasm for student development, creates an engaging and supportive environment for learners of all ages and abilities.
